Freedom Quilts Program

Join Dr. Clarice Boswell on Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 AM, as she tells the historical story of quilts made by African-American slaves before the Civil War. She will discuss the significance of the hidden codes that enabled the slaves to safely travel the Underground Railroad to freedom. Quilts sewn by local seamstresses will also be on display throughouth the library. This free program will be held in the handicap accessible Fine Arts room of Nash Middle School.
